A Powerful Celebration of Freedom, Legacy, and Black Excellence
Saturday, June 14, 2025 | 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM The Charlotte Museum of History | 3500 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC
We are thrilled to invite the community to the Fourth Annual Queen City Juneteenth Cultural Celebration, presented in partnership with the One-Year Anniversary of the Reopening of the Historic Siloam School.
This year’s cultural festival will be held on the historic grounds of The Charlotte Museum of History—land that was once part of the Alexander Plantation, now transformed into a site dedicated to education, preservation, and truth. Hosting a Juneteenth celebration on this land offers a powerful space to honor Black history, resilience, and progress.
What to Expect:
- Live performances
- Inspiring guest speakers
- Local vendors and food trucks
- Community storytelling and art
- Interactive exhibits and tours
The museum will feature special access to the restored Siloam School building, where museum educators and members of the Save Siloam Committee will be on hand to share the story of the school’s legacy and the community’s role in preserving it. Guests are also invited to take part in Juneteenth-themed tours of the 1774 Rock House, connecting the past and present through stories of survival, strength, and community. With a focus on youth leadership and Black excellence, this event brings together families, educators, artists, historians, and advocates for a day of learning, joy, and cultural pride. We invite you to celebrate heritage, community, and freedom with us.
