Celebrating Black Excellence
The Queen City Juneteenth Parade and Cultural Celebration is a community-led initiative dedicated to honoring Black excellence, culture, and heritage. The annual celebration centers around the theme: Black Excellence – Helping You See It, So You Can Become It.
The vision for this event was inspired by the powerful imagery of unity and pride seen in the first Black Panther movie—a moment that portrayed Black people standing together in dignity, strength, and beauty. This vision continues to shape the purpose of the celebration: to provide a platform that uplifts and empowers young people, encouraging them to dream boldly and see themselves reflected in a wide array of successful and impactful roles.
The Queen City Juneteenth Celebration proudly highlights Black professionals across diverse industries—including small business owners, trade professionals, medical experts, artists, first responders, scientists, educators, leaders in finance and technology, representatives from the agriculture sector, elected officials, athletes, entertainers, entrepreneurs, and community organizations such as fraternities, sororities, and college-prep programs. The event showcases the richness and diversity of Black achievement.
While rooted in African American history and culture, this celebration is open to all. We warmly welcome participation from community stakeholders, allies, and partners of every race and background who wish to join in honoring freedom, legacy, and shared progress.
Through this celebration, Queen City Juneteenth continues to create space for education, empowerment, and community pride—ensuring that the stories of the past help shape a stronger, more unified future.
